In early July, Canadian troops fought the Nazis to take back Caen. Many regiments fought and
the Highland Light Infantry saw its first action.
- “More Canadians were killed and wounded liberating the city than on D-Day itself.”
By the next day (July 9th), Canadians worked and had successfully returned Caen to the Allies.
